Russia... really, the dead USSR
Many of my favorites composers and directors are from Russia, and if we talk about the USSR is more interesting for me. Not for the communist goverment, or not just for the communist goverment. I watched a lot of sovietic movies not nessesari russian.
One of my reason of why i'm so interested in Russia is obviously the culture, the landscapes and the diversity of people. Russia have territory in Asia, near Mongolia and this is the reason why Russia joins differents cultures very uneven. You can watch this in the Kurosawa's film Dersu Uzala.
Composer like Stravinsky, Tschaikovsky, Mussorgsky, Rimsky-Korsakov, etc. has taken a lot of musical motif of the russian tradition for the creation of their pieces. I want to study that tradition what inspired the gratest russian musicians.
Russia have very interesting Filmakers, one of the most important in the beginning of cinema was Sergei Einsestein, but my favorite is Andrei Tarkovsky. I saw all of his films and you can know the Russian People in that. He ever film thinking in his lovely Russia, doing the film "Zerkalo" related the history of the people. Even in the exile, Andrei Tarkovski continue thinking in Russia, you can watch that in his Italian film "Nostalghia".
I want to listen, I want to see, I want to see all the buildings that I watch before in the films... and I want to learn.
